Road Dreams

Hi,

Has anyone heard of a series that was broadcast in some years back, called: Road Dreams. It was about a guy in England who travelled to the U.S. for a holiday and stayed for twelve years? I think his name was Elliot bristow. It was done in the 'on the road' style documentary. I travelled the U.S. when I was twenty for about three months for my 21st birthday so it appeals to me greatly. It's a long shot but I hope someone has heard of it and better still knows where I could obtain it. Any help appreciated.

they showed it here in the UK in the 80's sometime
i have been looking for a copy too... its a great movie as far as i'm concerned
the guy just shot hours of super 8 so it has that instant nostalgic super 8 feel

I've got a copy if you're interested, my email is [e-mail], it's on vhs, not great quality, but i've been google-ing this for years now, idley, not making the real effort one could, and i'm getting closer to making contact with Elliot Bristow, so fingers crossed I can get a copy on dvd copied soon, just a matter of taking the time out to really do some investigating. I'm email an Irish journalist who is a good friend of his this week, so I hope to hear back soon and make contact. In the mean time I have 5 of the episodes on vhs for your viewing pleasure. This is truly one of the most endearing programmes I've ever seen on tv, and I cant' believe it was nearly 14 or 15 years ago now, I was only 18 at the time it was aired, and boy am I glad I recorded it. this was a great series of films on tv i just loved.if i remember correctly the whole thing was repeated a couple of years later.i was on the dole at the time and never missed an episode!some really lovely fotage.i remember clearly scenes where he was reading from "on the road" as great american sunsets went rolling by.i also remember a great story he told about visiting some nowhere town full of beatle freaks who put ona party in his honour cos hed once had contact with them.they spiked the goulash with acid in respect!i'd love to get the whole thing on dvd.i will keep an eye out on here! ps.this series ispired me to start shooting 8mm something i've been doing ever since!"GO MAN, GO!"
